Ushiro Tekubitori Iriminage Omote (Theoretical)
2009
As Uke grabs the first wrist on his way behind you, if his grasp isn’t strong enough (or even if it is), you can break free. You do this by making a ‘hitchhiker’ motion so your thumb is moving away from you in the direction of Uke‘s momentum. You can then break out of the grip by pulling through his finger-thumb weakness. If timing is correct, slide your now-free arm up his arm and along his chest. At the same time slide in (irimi) as if to go behind him. Perform the iriminage with a slight hip check.
Safety: If Uke moves around you with a gap, then this is dangerous because he has the potential to elbow you in the ribs. If he moves tightly around you, this is better. You might have to rotate your hips and arc your body a bit so you can keep your eye on Uke and flow with him. This should be a blink-and-you-missed-it waza against Uke.
